Bavorak Winter Retreat
With such a long Winter, cabin fever had set-in and the
time had come to venture out to the Brown County State Park just outside Little
Nashville. The Abe Martin Lodge features that cozy lodge atmosphere, and
a nice indoor water park, complete with tube-slide, lazy river, and most
appreciated; large, kid-free, (drinks-permitted) hot tub. There is nothing like a
hot tub and your favorite adult beverage (plastic cup of course) in the middle
of winter - to melt the cabin fever away.

The six of us; Mike & Mandy, Denny & Linda, Monique & I arrived Saturday,
checked into the lodge and found our rooms. Then we all piled into Mike & Mandy's
car and headed into Little Nashville for some shopping and sight-seeing. |
| Nashville IN is a quaint little town loaded with interesting shops. |
 |
 |
Just inside the entrance to the lodge, a wood-carved depiction of the character
Abe Martin stands tall as a lazy looking guardian. |
| The lodge rooms were very comfortable with spectacular Winter views of the
surrounding woods. |
 |
| Before heading out, Denny and I battled each other on the motorcycle video game
(after we fixed it). Seems even motorcycle video games need occasional hands-on
repair. Just the basics; we adjusted the valves, replaced the air filter,
checked tire pressures and cleared the faults (rebooted the thing). We then continued
with our own brand of slaughter ping-pong, which might have actually gotten us kicked
out of the lodge if it weren't for our wives tempering our otherwise uncontrolled
competitiveness and enthusiasm for the game. |
| Leaving Brown County State Park, we followed the twisties for a spirited ride home. |
 |
| Thanks to all that attended, it was just what the doctor ordered for
'middle of the Winter' blues. |
